The Site

Santa Leticia’s Arqueological site is dated on 600 B.C. during the preclasic period of the Mayan Civilization in which they built this ceremonial center in times when Europe was beginning to organize itself as a civilization.

This site has an extension of approximately 15 hectares and includes an artificial terrace, monticules and three stone sculptures, this site is considered to have great archaeological value not only because of the beginning of agricultural practices but as an important ceremonial site.
